Welcome!

If you're searching for a spiritual home that is guided by a quest for truth and meaning, not by a set creed or dogma, we invite you to discover Unitarian Universalism.

We are an open-minded religious community that encourages you to seek your own spiritual path, offering you resources to help you make your own decisions. Unitarian Universalist congregations like ours here in Visalia are places where people gather to nurture their spirits and put their faith into action by helping to make our communities-and the world, a better place.

To learn more about our current programs, see our monthly newsletter and the links below (and the tabs above).

Cookbook

I, personally, would love a cookbook that coordinates cooking and gardening.  So , for example you might put togethr tips for growing the kinds of fruits and vegetables that do well locally along with what to do with your harvest bounty.  A whole collection of zucchini recipes, tomatoe recipes, eggplant, etc.  Wouldn't feel so bad about stealing recipes from other sources because it would take on a new context of local relevance.  Would also like to gleen gardening tips from local experts since…See More

Peter Morales in Spain speaking about MIchael Servetus

President of the UUA, Rev. Morales blog, "Beyond Belief," he reported this excerpt of the speech he gave in Spanish at the conference: "Today we see people in the modern world too often presented with terrible options. Whole Wheat Flax Yeast BreadOur family has been making bread for decades now, and we have worn out one bread maker (replacing it with the same model, which we love). Numerous members have complimented me on the bread I bring to the potluck meal following our worship service, so I deem this recipe “truth tested”.Ingredients1 cup flax seed1.5 cups boiling water5 lbs Bob's Red Mill Organic White…See More

Gardens

Cheryl and I have a moderately productive garden out back but want to expand mightily. We're going to move to raised beds, having heard a lot about how much easier it is.  Does anyone have any serious experience with this? Any ideas on keeping the gophers out? I will probably lay down some hardware cloth before filling in the beds with soil.  See More
